One title, held by one person at a time: the Richest Visitor — the most honoured guest this website has ever received, having offered a greater tribute than anyone before them.

Each new Richest Visitor offers at least 10% more than the reigning one, rounded up to the nearest dollar — or as much more as they like (for tributes above $10,000, please write to us first). The next minimum is then 10% above what was actually paid. The very first Richest Visitor will pay at least $100. The minimum of the day is always shown on the homepage.

For as long as no greater tribute is offered. Every reign is protected for at least 24 hours; after that, a greater tribute takes the title at once.

Yes. Offer your tribute now and you are next in the succession: the title passes to you the moment the current 24 hours are complete, and your own reign is protected for 24 hours in turn. The succession may be settled up to 14 days ahead, each reign at least 10% greater than the one before. The last in the succession reigns until a greater tribute is offered.

Only if we say no. If we do not approve your portrait, or remove it later, your tribute is refunded in full, promptly, to the way you paid. Otherwise every tribute is final — including when another visitor offers more and your reign ends, and if the site closes.

Yes. 50% of the profits (what remains after payment fees, hosting, taxes and refunds) is given directly by the founder to people in need. It is not given through any trust or NGO, and the people helped are never photographed or named. Your tribute is a payment for the title, not a charitable donation, so it is not tax-deductible.

It honours the greatest tribute offered so far — nothing more. It makes no claim about anyone's wealth, identity or character.

No. The title is not an investment, a security, a collectible or an asset. It cannot be resold or transferred, and nothing will ever be paid out.

A portrait and/or a proclamation of up to 140 characters, in any language, plus an optional link. Personal portraits, logos, advertisements and messages are welcome. Not permitted: nudity, hate, harassment, anything illegal, minors, impersonating real people without their consent, deceptive or harmful links, and anything that would put our payment processing at risk.

Yes. Every portrait is approved by a person before its unveiling — usually within 15 minutes during waking hours. Until then the reigning Richest Visitor remains on display. If a portrait is not approved, your reign is cancelled, your place is released and your tribute is refunded in full. You are welcome to return with another portrait.

Yes, at any time, if it breaks these rules or the law. If we remove your portrait, your tribute is refunded in full.

By card or PayPal (in US dollars), or by UPI in India (in rupees, at our posted rate). Card and PayPal tributes are confirmed at once. UPI tributes are verified by hand, usually within a few hours; your place is held while we verify.

Yes. At checkout, choose "Someone else" to make another person the Richest Visitor: their name and portrait go in the frame, a line reads "A gift from" you, and if you give us their email we tell them once, the moment their portrait is unveiled. Choose "The two of us" to reign together, with both your names and up to two flags. Either way you must have permission to show the people pictured; the receipt and private page stay with you.

By your full name, your initials, or anonymously — with your nation's flag beside it if you wish. Your email, phone and address are private and used only to correspond with you about your reign.

We write to you at once, with the name of your successor and the tribute required to reclaim the title. Your portrait moves to the Hall of Fame, where it keeps its place and its own permanent page for as long as the site exists.

We hope so, but there is no guarantee the site will exist for any period of time.

We store what you give us (portrait, proclamation, name, country, email and, if you choose, phone, address and — for a gift — the recipient's email, which we use once to tell them their portrait is unveiled), your payment reference and your IP address. We do not sell it. Payments are handled by PayPal or your UPI app; we never see card details.
